ICAR-Directorate of Rapeseed-Mustard Research Celebrated the World Soil Health Day at institute as well as KVK, Bansur on 5th December, 2018. This year theme of the programme was “Be The Solution For Soil Pollution” as the FAO decided. During the event all scientists, staff members and research fellows were present. In addition, farmers (~35 nos) from the tribal district of Latehar, Jharkhand also participated. In this programme, Dr P K Rai, Director stressed on soil based application of fertilizers to take sustainable crop yield without detoriating soil health. Dr Rai also advised to farmers to improve the soil fertility with best crop management practices. In this programme, farmers-scientist discussion meeting was organized and discussed different issues related to soil pollution, soil health, crop productivity, insect –pest, disease and how to increase the farm income. Similar line, separate programme was also organized at KVK (ICAR-DRMR), Bansur. In this programme more than 100 farmers/faculty members were benefitted.
